Privacy Policy

This privacy policy sets out how ISKCON Hubli-Dharwad uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website.

ISKCON Hubli-Dharwad is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 24 August 2026 and replaces the version dated 1 July 2016.

What we collect, and what we do with it

We use our best efforts to respect the privacy of our online visitors. We do not collect personally identifiable information unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. You do not need to register or give us any information in order to read this website.

We gather personally identifiable data — such as name, address, PIN code and e-mail address — when you submit it voluntarily. For example, we ask for personal information on our online donation pages, and use it to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax purposes.

When you donate, we ask for contact information (name, e-mail address, phone number and postal address) so that we can issue and send your receipt. If we have trouble processing a donation, we use the same information to contact you. If you ask for an 80G exemption receipt, we also collect your PAN, because the Income Tax Act requires it on that receipt.

We do not sell or trade this information to third parties. We will not share personally identifiable information with third parties unless you authorise it or the law requires it.

Payment information

Your card, UPI and bank details never reach us. Payments are processed entirely by our payment gateway on their own systems. We receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference number. We do not store, sell or trade payment information, and we could not share it even if asked.

If you would still rather not pay online, donations can be made by contacting the temple office on the numbers below.

Security

This website is served over an encrypted connection. We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure, and we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect online. Access to donor records is limited to authorised temple staff, each with their own account, and changes are recorded.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file placed on your device. We use cookies only to keep the website working and to understand which pages are being used, so that we can improve them. We use this traffic information for statistical analysis only.

A cookie gives us no access to your device and no information about you beyond what you choose to share. You can set your browser to decline cookies, though parts of the site may then not work as intended. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Links to other websites

This website may contain links to other websites of interest. Once you use those links to leave our site, we have no control over that other website. We are not responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide there, and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. Please look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Keeping you informed

If you give us your postal or e-mail address, you may receive occasional mailings from us about the temple's programs and services.

If you would prefer not to, tell us by e-mail or in writing at the address below and we will remove you. Some mailings are prepared well in advance, so please allow up to three months for the change to take effect.

How long we keep your information

We retain the personal information collected when you donate for as long as it is required for statutory or legal purposes.

In practice this means donation and receipt records are kept for at least eight years from the end of the financial year to which they relate, which covers the period during which an income tax assessment may be reopened. Contact details held only to keep you informed about the temple are removed as soon as you ask us to stop.
